Encore Live: A Tribute to Soul, Funk and R and B
Encore Live: A Tribute to Soul, Funk and R&B is a concert series that delivers performances by local and regional artists. The event series will give you a whole new reason to enjoy downtown Macon. Encore Live is produced by Encore 365, an events & lifestyle entertainment group, showcasing the various styles of art and culture in Middle Georgia. Their second concert of the series will be held on Thursday, March 15 at the Capitol Theatre at 7pm. The featured act is a seven-piece band out of Atlanta, Georgia called Something for the Soul. This first-class act will add a helping of soul to the premium live music experience. Having performed with entertainers like Johnny Gill, Keith Sweat, and the SOS Band, they are a true treat. To make it even sweeter, one of the lead vocalists is Macon’s own, Mia Darj’de.
To give you even more, Encore Live has confirmed Taylor & Co. as the opening act for the show. Members of this groovy band are familiar to Macon’s music scene. You may have seen them on stage at Recess Bar and Lounge’s Soulful Sundays, the Hummingbird Taproom Stage, or Billy’s Clubhouse. It is, however, the musical versatility of band leader, Andre Taylor, that makes this coalition so unique. Taylor plays bass guitar, piano, percussion AND he sings. “The boy can blow,” says Mia Darj’de herself. But don’t just take her word for it. Come out on Thursday, March 15, and see for yourself.
Encore Live is excited to deliver consistent, high-quality entertainment. The live shows utilize a state-of-the-art concert hall, along with its elegant architecture, to provide an atmosphere that will bring joy to your souls. The concert series seeks to reach new audiences, bridge generations and showcase the incredible. So, go ahead. Dust off your dancing shoes. Call up your best friends. And make it down to Encore Live.
