As the Rome Beer Fest has grown, organizers have sought to expand the emphasis on the arts by seeking out more unique beers, multiple local musicians, and partnerships with local vendors, sponsors, and photographers to capture the spirit of this special event, culminating in a sellout event last year.
This year, we are excited to promote home brew culture and further explore the connection between arts and beer-making.
12:00pm - 1:30pm: Muletide Perkins
Bryan Mullins is a Rome native who writes and performs Southern folk-rooted “slop music” under the alias of Muletide Perkins. Muletide’s notion of slop music was derived from his love of potluck style family gatherings where each bite may hold an array of flavors. His approach to songwriting follows suit. Each song contains a mix of flavors, prepared with love. No divider plates, please. Muletide performs regularly around Rome and Northwest Georgia.
1:45pm - 3:00pm: Jeremy Guider & Thomas Ryan of The Barbaric Yawps
The Barbaric Yawps, based in Rome, Ga, are an eclectic acoustic group specializing in bluegrass, blues, and other genres of Americana.
3:15pm - 4:45pm: Whiskey Dixie
Whiskey Dixie is a Southern Soul Rock band pulling influences from Rock N Roll, Blues, Roots, and Soul. Formed in Fall of 2014, the band went from local band to road warriors touring all over the Southeast and Midwest as headliners and support acts for the likes of Joe Diffie, Drivin N Cryin, Artimus Pyle of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Uncle Lucius and many more. Whiskey Dixie is on a journey to show the world what Georgia rock n roll is all about. The band also independently released their first recorded effort, ‘The Southern Fix’ in winter of 2014. The Whiskey boys are in the process of recording their second studio album to be released in late 2017. The band’s constant touring and powerful live shows have made Whiskey Dixie a must see band.
