Eddie Owen Presents: The Krickets and Ross Newell (formerly of The Mulligan Brothers)
Friday, February 21st at 8 pm
Live at Red Clay Music Foundry
(Formerly of THE MULLIGAN BROTHERS) "Singer/songwriter Ross Newell bring a warmth and finely crafted talent to the experience and the superb vocal tone of Newell is without doubt one of the finest live voices I have heard in some time. Newell is a fine writer and his eye for a couplet is as finely honed as ever. "
- Paul McGee, Lonesome Highway Magazine
The Krickets are a female Americana group from the gulf coast who's music is what Paste Magazine calls a "a truly stunning, one-of-a-kind sound." With a specialty in swamp harmony, the group's genre-bending songwriting has allowed them to play for diverse audiences from listening rooms to official performances at SXSW. Their title track of their most 2018 album, Redbird, was just named Alt Country Song of the Year at the 2019 Independent Music Awards.
Their 2016 debut album, Spanish Moss Sirens was recorded in Muscle Shoals with Single Lock Record's Ben Tanner and also won an IMA for 'Cool Cool Water."
Originally coming together to play a breast cancer benefit in honor of Cristina "Cricket" Russell, The Krickets continue to support the cause by donating a portion of the proceeds from every album sale. This fund, created by Sacred Heart Hospital, provides screening for the uninsured in rural north Florida. Click here to donate to the Cricket Fund.
"The Krickets send chills down your spine and lift you sky high on their debut album Spanish Moss Sirens." - No Depression
