ACCGov Animal Services, Leisure Services, Solid Waste, Transit &Other Changes for Labor Day

-The Animal Shelter will be closed Monday, September 5 and will resume regular hours on Tuesday, September 6. Fosters, adoptions, and rescues are scheduled by appointment and availability. Those searching for missing animals at the shelter do not need an appointment. The shelter hours are from 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

-Animal Control Officers will not be available for non-emergency calls on Monday, September 5. Non-emergency service calls will resume on Tuesday, September 6.

-Emergency animal services – such as an animal bite, a seriously sick or injured animal, or an animal trapped inside a living space of a home – will be provided throughout the holiday by calling 911.

Leisure Services

-ACC Leisure Services parks will operate under their regular hours on Monday, September 5. Sandy Creek Park will be open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

-All other department facilities (Sandy Creek Nature Center, Lyndon House Arts Center, all community centers) will be closed on Monday, September 5.

-All parks and facilities will reopen Tuesday, September 6 under regular hours of operation.

Solid Waste

-Solid Waste offices will be closed on Monday, September 5.

-Residential garbage and recycling collection normally scheduled for Monday will be collected on Tuesday. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday collection will take place as regularly scheduled.

-Downtown district commercial and residential curbside, roll cart, and dumpster garbage and recycling services will be collected as regularly scheduled. 

-All other commercial curbside, roll cart, and recycling services normally scheduled for Monday will be collected on Tuesday. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday collection will take place as regularly scheduled.

-Leaf & limb collection will delay pickup by one day, beginning on Tuesday, September 6 through Friday, September 9 tentatively in Area A. The area is subject to change based on the final collection from the week of August 29 - see accgov.com/leaflimb for current updates.

-The recycling center will be closed on Monday, September 5. Regular hours of 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM resume on Tuesday, September 6.

-The landfill will be closed on Monday, September 5. Regular hours resume on Tuesday, September 6 from 7:30 AM until 4:30 PM. 

-The CHaRM site will be closed on Monday, September 5. It will operate from 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 6 and Wednesday, September 7.

Transit

-Transit offices are closed and bus service is suspended on Monday, September 5.

-All Transit services will resume on Tuesday, September 6.

-Route 14 remains hourly until further notice.

Other Offices

All general departmental administrative offices and facilities (City Hall, Courthouse, Satula Avenue Building, Dougherty Street Governmental Building) will be closed on Monday, September 5. Regular hours of operation will resume Tuesday, September 6.
