Join us at Lula Lake Land Trust for a Hemlock Woolly Adelgid awareness program. We are partnering with Save Georgia Hemlocks to talk about the ongoing threat of the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid and its effect on the ecosystem here on Lookout Mountain. During this two-hour program, we will learn about the Eastern Hemlock Tree and how to identify one, the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid pest and its effect on the Hemlock Trees, and the ways Lula Lake Land Trust is managing our Hemlock Forests.
The program instructors will be Jimmy Stewart with Save Georgia Hemlocks, and Patrick Kelly and Mason Price from Lula Lake Land Trust.
*Please note that this is an informational session and not a training on how to treat Hemlock trees. The setting will be an outside classroom with minimal hiking. This session will end promptly at 11:00am and there is no hiking permitted afterwards as Lula Lake is closed to the public.

Location: 5000 Lula Lake Road, Lookout Mountain GA 30750.
Time: the informational session will start promptly at 9:00am EST. Please arrive a little early to give yourselves plenty of time to drive to the meadow where the class will take place.
What to bring: plenty of water as there is no drinking water source on site, snacks, and a camp chair.
*Please note that we do see quite a bit of yellowjackets nested in the ground during the warmer months, so if you are allergic to bee stings, please bring your own EpiPen as we do not carry them on site.
