Retirement Reception for Christy Williams

Butts County wishes to announce a reception to be held for Butts County Zoning Administrator Christy Williams, who will be retiring at the end of next week.

Christy has worked for the County since February 12, 1998, first in the Tax Office, then moving to the Planning and Development Department soon afterwards. She moved up over the years, working as Office Manager, Planner and Zoning Administrator, responsible for managing and applying zoning and land use plans for the County. During her two-plus decades with the County, she was involved in practically every building project to come through the P & D and was respected by her colleagues for her knowledge of zoning codes and particularly, County codes.

A drop-in reception will be held for Christy Williams on Tuesday, June 14th from 10AM to 2PM in the Planning and Development Department, located in Suite 3 of the new Administrative Wing, Butts County Administrative Office Building, 625 W. Third Street. The public is cordially invited to attend and to join with the County government in wishing Christy well in her retirement and future endeavors.

US CONGRESSIONAL 10 DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY RECOUNTS

TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

NOTICE TO ALL CITIZENS

On Wednesday, June 8, 2022 the Secretary of State ordered all Georgia counties to conduct a recount of the US Congressional 10 race from the May 24, 2022 General Primary Election. Butts County will conduct the recount on the following dates and times:

Logistic and Accuracy testing of the ICC will take place Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 9:00 am then the recount will start promptly after until completion.
The recount will be conducted at Butts County Board of Elections & Registration, 625 West Third Street, Suite 5, Jackson, GA 30233 and is open to interested persons who wish to observe.
