On January 9, 2023 at the monthly council meeting the city council voted to increase water rates. Rates will be effective with water used AFTER January 25,2023. This means you will see the water rate increase on your Feb 25, 2023 water bill.

10% of Mountain City Residents use over 10,001 gallons of water each period.

Please note that the below comparisons do NOT include the base rate (original base rate $29.55, new base rate $31.00), the comparison is for the water usage only:

Funds will go into the water system reserve to support equipment replacements, tank service and repair and other water related needs. Please click the link below to see the full wording of the ordinance with additional information.
Please note that water meter and cover repairs are the responsibility of the homeowner. For example, if you run over your meter cover and cause any damage that results in a replacement of equipment, the cost will be passed on to you in your monthly bill. Cost of equipment is noted on the new ordinance and ranges from $25 to $125. Please use caution when working, driving, moving around the water meters.
