City Of Roswell News : Roswell Welcomes New Transportation Director

The City of Roswell is pleased to announce the hiring of  as the City's new Director of Transportation. Littlefield comes to Roswell from Albemarle, North Carolina, where he has served as the Deputy Division Engineer for the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) since 2018. He brings with him more than 18 years of experience as a Professional Engineer and a Certified Public Manager.

"We are pleased to welcome Jeffery Littlefield as our new transportation director," said Mayor Kurt Wilson. "Jeff is a well-respected leader who has earned distinction not only because of his expertise and wealth of experience, but also because of his ability to successfully engage and communicate with all stakeholders—from members of the public, to agency leaders and elected officials."

Littlefield's extensive experience includes construction management, roadway design, right-of-way management, structure management, and transportation improvement projects (TIP).

In Littlefield's most recent position as NCOT's Deputy Division Engineer, he managed over 11 maintenance units across five counties, comprising over 420 employees, including 200 engineers, technicians, and transportation staff. He also oversaw the implementation of staff leadership development, performance management, and compliance.

Previous to his work with the NCDOT, Littlefield was responsible for managing and recruiting contract engineering inspectors and implemented a robust recruiting and talent search program as the Construction Services Manager for A Morton Thomas and Associates.

Littlefield earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University. He is a certified Radiation Safety Officer, a Professional Engineer, and a Certified Public Manager. Littlefield is a servant leader, having served in the Marine Corps as a Machine Gun Leader for eight years. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization (CRPTO) and the Technical Coordination Committee.Jeffrey S. Littlefield
