Roswell Youth Theatre Auditions for Shrek the Musical JR.

Everyone's favorite ogre is back in this hilarious stage spectacle, based on the Oscar-winning smash hit film and outrageous Broadway musical. Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in Shrek the Musical JR., based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical. It's a "big bright beautiful world" as everyone's favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek the Musical JR. is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family.
Once upon a time, in a faraway swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek. One day, Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he's handed a task — if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona's love and vanquish Lord Farquaad, but a fairytale wouldn't be complete without a few twists and turns along the way.

August 15 & 16, 2022, 5:30 - 7:30 PM
Only attend 1 night, must stay the entire time

Age Requirements:
Audition is open to all middle school – high school student actors, singers, and dancers.
For the audition, please prepare:
- Monologue, memorized, no longer than 1 minute
- Broadway song, memorized, no longer than 1 minute
Please bring sheet music in proper key (accompanist provided) or an accompaniment cd. Bluetooth speaker will be available.
- Dress comfortably for a movement based audition, dance shoes or experience not required.
Audition Fee:
Register for audition day at www.roswellgov.com/performingarts Monday, August 15, 2022 Activity code 17082-01 or Tuesday, August 16, 2022 Activity code 17082-02. Fee of $25 will be collected at the door, cash, credit/debit or check made out to Roswell Youth Theatre.
Show Fee:
$450, resident; $675, non-resident
If cast, rehearsals begin Monday, August 22, 2022 and will be held at the Physical Activity Center in Roswell Area Park every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 5:30-7:30 PM.
Detailed schedules will be handed out after casting, prior to rehearsals.
The performances will be held December 2 & 3, 2022 at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center.
