Message from the Chief
Welcome to The Second Alarm, the Valdosta Fire Department's Monthly Newsletter. The objective of this newsletter is to communicate information to our members and the citizens we serve. Communications in any organization are pivotal to its success. Though this newsletter does not replace the day to day communication within our organization, we hope this newsletter will aid in sharing valuable information about our department to you. This is YOUR department! We continue to provide you service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. Our doors are open at the stations. Please stop in at your neighborhood station and say hi.

NATIONAL FIRE PREVENTION WEEK
Community outreach is one of the best parts of our careers! We enjoyed teaching the kids Friendly Firefighter, and fire safety tips like stop, drop and roll!
With our brothers and sisters from the Valdosta Police Department, we conducted a neighborhood walk visiting community members, asking if they have any concerns in their area and passing out educational materials on fire safety.
Congratulations to our brothers and sisters at the Valdosta Police Department for winning the Battle of the Badges Community Blood Drive. This year's donations impacted 165 lives making LifeSouth and the recipients of the donations the true winners. A big thank you to everyone who donated!
