Message from the Chief

Welcome to The Second Alarm, the Valdosta Fire Department's Monthly Newsletter. The objective of this newsletter is to communicate information to our members and the citizens we serve. Communications in any organization are pivotal to its success. Though this newsletter does not replace the day to day communication within our organization, we hope this newsletter will aid in sharing valuable information about our department to you. This is YOUR department! We continue to provide you service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. Our doors are open at the stations. Please stop in at your neighborhood station and say hi.

Congratulations to our newest Fire Academy graduates:

Firefighter Garrett Blake, Firefighter Jacob Browning, Firefighter Austin Camp, Firefighter Charity Crump, Firefighter Jeffrey Frier, Firefighter Jayme Parson

We had a great time participating in Public Safety Santa Day with the Valdosta Police Department! As fire and police vehicles arrived with lights and sirens activated, children rushed out to meet Santa and our responders, who gave them gifts! It is a meaningful way we connect with our community and an opportunity to show how much we care about the people we are honored to serve.

Life Save Awards:
Michael Walden, Charles Phillips, William Sumner, Wade Briggs, Allen Carter, Jacob Coleman, Heath Couch
Joshua Knight, Shelley Miller, Jordan Washington, Isaac Deloach, and Jacob Browning

reading to students

Our firefighters enjoyed the spirit of the Holidays reading to students! ??
Pinevale Elementary School students were delighted to have a special Christmas visit from our Firefighters and Fire and Life Safety Educator, Sherina Ferrell. They passed out presents and snacks to the kids and read them fun Christmas stories!
