Scottdale-Tobie Grant Homework Center to Open

The Scottdale-Tobie Grant Homework Center opens soon in its new location in the Tobie Grant Recreation Center at 593 Parkdale Drive. This special library shares space in the new 24,000 foot facility which features multipurpose rooms, basketball courts, and a gymnasium track. DCPL is excited to be a part of this new community gathering center. Join us Friday, September 2 at 10:00 a.m. for the official ribbon cutting.

We Need Your Help

The DeKalb Library Foundation kicks off a month-long campaign today to raise funds for the Take the Internet Home with You initiative which supports DCPL's mobile hotspots. Please consider making a donation that will support DCPL's 300 devices which allow 4,000 patrons a year the opportunity to check out a hotspot. Donations made by September 9 will be matched by author Karin Slaughter's Save The Libraries Foundation. Click here to donate today.

The Book as Art

The Georgia Center for the Book and the Decatur Arts Alliance present The Book as Art v. 10 Transformation. This exhibit of book arts, which opens September 8 and runs through October 31, will be installed on the fourth floor of the Decatur Library. Join us for an opening reception on the evening of September 9 and for more events happening throughout the show. Registration required for all events, both virtual and in-person. Click here to register and learn more about all the ways to experience the show.

Decatur Book Festival

The Decatur Book Festival returns on Saturday, October 1 at First Baptist Church of Decatur. The event will highlight selected authors with new fall publications, featured in fifteen sessions presented in three tracks: adult fiction, adult non-fiction, and children and youth.
