Summer Learning is winding down and students are heading back to school for another year. I guess we don’t need the public library until next summer, right? WRONG! Here at SRLS, we’re doin’ our thing year-round! We offer computer access, free Wi-Fi, parking lot internet access, wireless printing, exam proctoring, and one-on-one “Ask Us!” Sessions to help you learn anything you want to know! Here’s a brief rundown of some back-to-school reminders from your friends at Sequoyah Regional Library System (SRLS).
Explore 3D Printing
Each SRLS library has a 3D printer on display. Want to have something printed to keep? Submit a printing request either online or inside the library to get started. Library staff at each location have a variety of 3D-printed items on display to admire, and visitors can even view the printer in action to learn how the process works! Anyone who’s created their own custom-designed 3D models in Tinkercad can bring their creation to life using the 3D printer at their library as well.
Access Our e-Library
Anyone with a library card can use the e-Library! Explore Ancestry to piece together your family tree, take free and easy courses to learn over 70 languages with Mango, or study geography with the comprehensive country-by-country database A-to-Z World Culture. Teenagers can even find practice driving tests, and there are numerous databases available on GALILEO. Kids ages 2 to kindergarten can access ABC Mouse to learn phonics, math, art, music, and more.
Computers, Wi-Fi, and Printing
All SRLS locations have computers and printers for public use, equipped with free internet access and a suite of programs installed. Borrow a Chromebook and/or a Wi-Fi Hotspot from our Library of Thingsto take home and work on projects. Free Wi-Fi is also available from the comfort of your own car in our parking lots.
