October 11, 2023

Please help us develop the Strategic Plan for our libraries by participating in this survey. Your input is needed for us to better serve the residents of Baldwin, Bibb, Crawford, Jones, Macon, Twiggs, and Wilkinson Counties.
Your individual responses are confidential. The survey should take less than 5 minutes to complete. Thank you for taking the time to improve your community library!

This October, we invite you to join us in honoring and celebrating our incredible Friends of the Library volunteers. Their dedication and hard work ensure that our library remains a hub of knowledge, imagination, and connection. Through book sales and fundraising events, they bring smiles and stories to life.

Let's show our gratitude for these unsung heroes! Reach out, thank them, and celebrate their contributions.

Enjoy coffee and conversation with William Rawlings. The Sandersville-based author will be at the Hancock Branch Library located next door to Mary Vinson Memorial Library to speak about his latest work of fiction, Crypto.

Riverside Library invites you to meet Jackie K. Cooper. He will be talking about his book "The Wisdom of Winter: Reflections from the Journey", a collection of personal stories about love, faith, family, friendship, and navigating life's ebbs and flows.
These stories are presented in a narrative format and are as easy to absorb as a conversation between two friends spending an afternoon on the porch on a breezy summery day.

There will be a solar eclipse on Oct. 14. Our friend and astronomer, Phillip Groce,  will teach us how to safely observe and photograph solar eclipses and allow us to take a look using his telescope, weather permitting, at Washington Memorial Library beginning at 10 AM on the 2nd floor.

Shurling Library invites teens to "Escape the Library". In this Halloween-themed escape room, your team is challenged to escape the library before time runs out. Will you escape? Or will you find out what lurks in the dark?

The Macon-Bibb Libraries Endowment Fund at the Community Foundation of Central Georgia was created to endow the future of the Macon-Bibb County libraries and will help us continue our mission to connect all people to the information necessary to improve their lives through excellent services and materials.

Be a part of building the future. A new public library located at 5494 Forsyth Road will serve North and West Bibb Macon. Nestled in a diverse residential area the property includes a great outdoor space and pavilion perfect for outdoor programming. It is currently comprised of four structures, one of which the Macon-Bibb Friends of the Library use as their bookstore and workroom, with future plans to transform existing structures into a functional library space.
