Honoring Peachtree City's
First Female Mayor

Elected in a December 2013 runoff, Vanessa Fleisch, a former CNN producer, became the first female mayor of Peachtree City. Fleisch served as Mayor from January 2014 to December 2021. Prior to serving as Mayor, Fleisch served on Council starting in 2010. We commemorate Vanessa's great contribution to Peachtree City!

Bob Curnow, Peachtree City's new city manager, marked 30 days on the job this month.

Concerned Citizens Meet New City Manager

Last Friday, City Manager Bob Curnow introduced himself to a full room of concerned Peachtree City residents.

For many, this was their first time meeting the new city manager. They came with questions and Bob answered a lot of them.

This won't be the last Conversation with the City Manager. Stay tuned for future dates and locations. Until then, you can email Bob at rcurnow@peachtree-city.org.

He wants to hear from you!

Fire Department Pushes in New Truck

The Peachtree City Fire and Rescue Department recently received a new fire engine.

Before Engine 82 is placed in to service, there's a push-in ceremony. This tradition dates back to the 1800s. It is quite literally firefighters, police officers, city employees and the public pushing the fire truck into the fire house.

Sign up for Citizen Police Academy

How do cops do their job?

The Peachtree City Police Department aims to answer that question at its annual citizens' police academy.

Now in its 21st year, the citizens' police academy teaches residents how crime scenes are processed, how traffic laws are enforced, and how officers take a suspect into custody while protecting themselves and others from harm.

The 10-week course also includes a ride-along with an officer and a tour of the 911 communications center.

Applications for the citizens' police academy are now being accepted. Participants must be at least 18 years old and pass a background check.
