RECOMMENDED READS:

Libraries are awesome and here's some proof.

The Library of the Unwritten, by A.J. Hackwith
The premise of The Library of the Unwritten sounds amazing: a grumpy librarian, presiding over the Library of Unwritten Books, located in hell, is led to deal with a major crisis. And A.J. Hackwith delivered on her concept, with brisk head librarian Claire, a Hero who struggles against his fate, a demon who is not what he seems to be, a fallen muse and two angels who are quite pissed. An accountant having a snippet of the illusive Devil’s Bible, turning up at the gates of heaven to barter this dangerous piece for access to paradise, is a nice added touch to set the whole story into motion. Sometimes the level of coincidence and convenient limits to magic (since we are dealing with supernatural beings in various afterlives) is a bit too obviously visible, but the characters are vibrant and snappy, and you are bound to stay engaged throughout the book. A thoroughly enjoyable, with a wild-goose chase of a librarian through Hell, Heaven, Walhalla and even earth and the Minoan afterlife.

The Library at Mount Char, by Scott Hawkins

Carolyn's not so different from the other people around her. She likes guacamole and cigarettes and steak. She knows how to use a phone. Clothes are a bit tricky, but everyone says nice things about her outfit with the Christmas sweater over the gold bicycle shorts. After all, she was a normal American herself once. That was a long time ago, of course. Before her parents died. Before she and the others were taken in by the man they called Father. In the years since then, Carolyn hasn't had a chance to get out much. Instead, she and her adopted siblings have been raised according to Father's ancient customs. They've studied the books in his Library and learned some of the secrets of his power. And sometimes, they've wondered if their cruel tutor might secretly be God.  Now, Father is missing—perhaps even dead—and the Library that holds his secrets stands unguarded. And with it, control over all of creation. As Carolyn gathers the tools she needs for the battle to come, fierce competitors for this prize align against her, all of them with powers that far exceed her own. But Carolyn has accounted for this. And Carolyn has a plan. The only trouble is that in the war to make a new God, she's forgotten to protect the things that make her human.

Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore, by Robin Sloan

Clay Jannon is struggling in his career and in life. A victim of the recession, Clay's once promising public relations career has imploded. Having to redefine his vision of the future, Clay needs both money and direction. He finds both in a "Help Wanted" sign outside of Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore. Thankful to find gainful employment, it takes Clay a while to acknowledge the peculiarities of a 24-Hour bookstore. An excited clientele eagerly returns night after night to check out books from the "Way Backlist," a group of books on impossibly high shelves. The bookstore doesn't so much sell books as loan them to members for purposes Clay can only imagine. It's not long before Clay finds himself embroiled in secret literary societies, an impossible ancient puzzle, an adorable Googler, and a breakthrough that may exist at the nexus of the written word and technology.
