TCPLS Welcomes Our New Library Director!

We at the library are happy to announce the arrival of our new Library Director, Derek Kolb!  Derek has over seven years of experience working in Public Libraries, serving as Director of Information Technology at both the Live Oak Public Libraries (Savannah, Georgia) and Palm Beach County Library System (Palm Beach, Florida).   We at TCPLS believe that his transition to Library Director will be seamless and look forward to working together with Derek as the Thomas County Public Library System continues to evolve with and serve the community.

Have you heard?  One Book Thomas County is returning this September!

Our annual community read is back from its long hiatus.  This year's event line-up will be a bit reduced from the past, but the main event is still on.

This year, One Book has selected You're Not Listening by renowned journalist and author Kate Murphy. Handpicked by Malcolm Gladwell, Adam Grant, Susan Cain, and Daniel Pink for the Next Big Idea Club, it was named one of The Washington Post's "Notable Works of Nonfiction in 2020" and couldn't be more of an essential book for our times.

Add it to your calendar: Sept 28, 7:00pm.  A visit from author Kate Murphy.  Tickets are on sale now online and at the Library.

Paperback copies are available for purchase at our local bookshop partner, The Bookshelf.
