Paranormal Fundraiser

October 21st & October 28th

Get into the spirit of Halloween with the Tifton- Tift County Public Library's newest fundraiser! In partnership with Cross the Line Paranormal, we are excited to share this special learning opportunity! A perfect evening event for those that love the paranormal and are interested in the scientific aspect of unexplained phenomena! Learn how to conduct an investigation, possibly experience some activity, and enjoy some seasonal fun. Tickets are $20/person for a 2-hour opportunity. The sessions are from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., 8 p.m. - 10 p.m., and 10 p.m. - 12 a.m. with sessions still available in each timeslot. Due to the nature of this event, we recommend ages 16+. If you have your own equipment and want to try it here, feel free to bring it! Event dates are Saturday October 21st, and Saturday October 28th. Tickets are available now at the library!

Author Visit: Lisa Russell

October 20th

The Tifton- Tift County Public Library is proud to host a great Georgia author, Lisa Russell, who writes about the weird and wonderful found all across our beautiful state. Her books feature stories about Lake Lanier, the north Georgia mill towns, and her latest book: Georgia Covered Bridges. Her speaking engagements are always captivating. She has also been featured on the History Channel, given a Tedx Talk, and continues traveling the state to promote her research. We are looking forward to her visit and hope you will make plans to join us. This free event takes place October 20th, from 6PM-8PM. 

Vermeer Exhibit Encore Event

October 23rd

We are pleased to host an encore presentation of Vermeer: The Greatest Exhibition! This fabulous opportunity is free and open to all, in partnership with the amazing Tifton Council for the Arts. No registration is necessary for this all ages event.

October 16th

- 5 p.m. - Learning Cricut for Beginners: Welcome to the wonderful world of Cricut! This free program introduces you to the ins-and-outs of everyone's favorite cutting machine. You can choose between a Tote or a T-Shirt. (T-Shirt sizes limited to L and XL.) Call to preregister as spots are limited. Join us to be a part of the Cricut trend and enter your very own, truly customizable world!

- 6 p.m. - Tabletop Gaming: Unplug and unwind with our tabletop gaming program. This program is for teens to join in and play some classic card and board games such as Uno, Monopoly, and Connect 4! No registration is necessary.

- 5 p.m. - Adult Bingo Night: Get ready to shout BINGO! The Tifton- Tift County Public Library brings you Adult Bingo Night! Hosted by our wonderful Ms. Lesley, bring your friends for a chance to win great prizes and have tons of fun. See you there!

- 5 p.m. - Financial Literacy Storytime at Leroy Rogers: Created by the Financial Literacy Initiative, this class hopes to help members of the community make good credit decisions and gain a better understanding of debt, assets, and answer any other financial related questions they may have. There is also a storytime, crafts, and games for parents who wish to bring their little ones.

- 4 p.m. - Fantasy Nation: Looking to escape the mundane in this reality, then look no further! Adventure awaits with the Fantasy Nation Bookclub! This bookclub is for older teens and young adults to gather and discuss the wondrous worlds of fantasy fiction. This month's book is Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. Anyone aged 16-24 is welcome to come and kick off this exciting program.

October 19th

- 10 a.m. - Reading Rascals: This program is a weekly storytime for the littles that includes stories, songs and a mess free craft. Caregivers must accompany their littles. Hosted by our lovely Ms. Grace, make sure to stop by and have some fun!

- 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. - Mobile Office for Senator Ossoff: Led by Senator Ossoff’s Constituent Services Team, this event is held for the community to gain access to any benefits they have earned. From resolving issues with Social Security and Medicare, obtaining passports, and helping servicemembers and their families receive their VA benefits, Senator Ossoff’s team is here to help.

- 5 p.m. - Anime Club: Teens are welcome to come attend this program, watch some anime, and have fun! This week, we are watching Spy X Family and Assassination Classroom. No registration is necessary.

- 5 p.m. - Clases de Ingles: Join us at the Tifton Library for free ESOL classes held every Thursday! This program is designed for Hispanic participants to learn English. All are welcome!

- 5 p.m. - Hora De Cuentos en Español: Hora De Cuentos en Español: ¡Ven a visitarnos para nuestra hora de cuentos en español! ¡Los niños de 0 a 5 años y sus cuidadores disfrutarán de historias, canciones y más con nuevos amigos!-

Spanish Story Time: Come visit us for our Spanish Story Time! Children ages 0-5 and their caregivers will enjoy stories, songs, and more with new friends!

- 6 p.m. - Boozy Bookclub: The Boozy Bookclub is back! This month we are reading Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Join us at Donatello's/ Savor the Flavor to talk books and enjoy a complimentary glass of wine. All patrons 21+ are welcome. Come see us at the library to pick up your copy, or feel free to access it on the Libby app, where it's available in E-Book and Audiobook!

October 20th

- 4 p.m. - Gaming Group: This program is for kids ages 6-18. Teens and elementary aged patrons can come play Nintendo Switch games like Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate! Games and controllers are provided.

- 6 p.m. - Special Presentation by Georgia Author Lisa Russell: Visit us at the Tifton- Tift County Public Library for this most fascinating author visit. Georgia author Lisa Russell joins us to discuss her writings on the weird and wonderful across our beautiful state. This program is free to join for all. You don’t want to miss this!

October 21st

- 12 p.m. - Drop- in Art Studio: This program is for patrons ages 16-24. Patrons are welcome to drop by the library, where they will be provided a space or rather a "studio" to create artwork. Any artist can come, and it is a great way to meet and work with other artists. Supplies are not provided.

- 2 p.m. - Tiftarea Jr. Gardeners' Club: Come join the Tiftarea Junior gardeners club to learn about all things plants and pollinators!

- 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., 8 p.m. - 10 p.m., 10 p.m. - 12 a.m. - Paranormal Investigation Fundraiser: Join us for the scariest event of the season as Cross the Line Paranormal revisits the Tifton- Tift County Public Library for another paranormal investigation.
