Registration Opens Monday November 27th

Welcome to Whoville! Get into the Christmas spirit before the night's Hometown Holidays festivities with the Grinch! Families will have an opportunity to have a free, professional photo with the Grinch and enjoy some activities! This event is by appointment only, and appointment scheduling starts on Monday, November 27th.

The pictures and activities will take place on December 2nd at 10 a.m., before Hometown Holidays.

December Programing
All Month Long

Get ready for a month full of festivities here at the Tifton- Tift County Public Library! Find fun programs for you and for the family all month long. Need something to decorate your tree with? Join us and make a mason jar lid ornament on December 6th, or make your own sequin ornaments on December 19th. Need something for your mantel? Make a cute pompom Christmas tree with us on December 5th.

Don’t forget to satisfy your sweet tooth. The Adult Christmas Cookie Decorating class will be taking place on December 11th, but don't worry! There will also be a teen cookie decorating competition too. If any of these programs piqued your interest, then stop by the library for more information! There’s plenty more festive programing to come so stay tuned!

Weekly Calendar of Events

Monday, November 27th

11 a.m. - Reading Rascals: This program is a weekly storytime for the littles that includes stories, songs, and a mess free craft. Caregivers must accompany their littles. Hosted by our lovely Ms. Grace, make sure to stop by and have some fun!

4 p.m. - Grinch Cricut Class: Join us for a very special themed Cricut class, led by our wonderful Ms. Kristen. This class, patrons will need to bring their own T-shirts, and they will get to choose from 3 different shirt designs. This class does have a limited number of spots, and spots are filling up fast! Call to register at 229-386-7148.

5 p.m. - Clases De Ingles: Join us at the Tifton Library for free ESOL classes held every Monday and Thursday! Designed for Hispanic participants to learn English. All are welcome!

5 p.m. - Suicide Prevention Training: The library will be hosting a QPR Suicide prevention training to understand how to identify those most at risk, and question, persuade, and refer them to help. This training is open to the public. 

Tuesday, November 28th

4 p.m. - College Day: The library will be hosting College Days, for both teens and young adults. For the first college day, Colleges and Universities will stop by to promote different majors and offer advice on how to apply and get started.

5 p.m. - Scribble Society: Get scribbling with our Scribble Society! The scribble society program gives kids from grades K-5 a place to let their creative minds wander. This program helps harness the hidden talents your little authors possess through creative writing! With Storytelling, writing activities, and fun games, get ready to build a world of your own.

5 p.m. - 3D Art: Welcome to the wonderful world of 3D art. Teens ages 12 – 18 are welcome to stop by and try their hand at sculpting clay. Materials will be provided and no registration is necessary.

Wednesday, November 29th

10 a.m. - College Day: Representatives from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College will stop by to offer more information on how to apply, give a more in depth look at the programs they have to offer, and answer any questions one might have.

11 a.m. - Move and Groove: A fun music and movement class where your little ones can listen to some fun tunes and jam out with Ms. Grace! This program also includes books on music, dancing, playing instruments, and more! Caregivers must accompany their children.

Thursday, November 30th

10 a.m. - Mayor's Storytime: A storytime for kiddos led by Mayor Julie! This storytime will often feature a mess free craft, and special guests such as the Fire Department, Police Department, and other helpful members of the community.

5 p.m. - Manga Club: All teens ages 12-18 are welcome to come read some manga, have some snacks, and nerd out with people that eat, sleep, manga, and repeat! Weebs, Otakus, and casual readers welcome! This month, the manga club is reading Mob Psycho 100 by ONE.

5 p.m. - Clases De Ingles: Join us at the Tifton Library for free ESOL classes held every Monday and Thursday! Designed for Hispanic participants to learn English. All are welcome!

5 p.m. - Hora De Cuentos en Español:  ¡Ven a visitarnos para nuestra hora de cuentos en español! ¡Los niños de 0 a 5 años y sus cuidadores disfrutarán de historias, canciones y más con nuevos amigos!

Spanish Story Time: Come visit us for our Spanish Story Time! Children ages 0-5 and their caregivers will enjoy stories, songs, and more with new friends!

Friday, December 1st

10 a.m. - Homeschool Hangout: Join us at the Tifton- Tift County Public Library for Homeschool Hangout! Homeschool families are more than welcome to come meet with other homeschool families to have fun and get to know others in the homeschooling community as well! There will be activities and crafts for all ages! No registration is required. 

10 a.m. - Beginners Computer Class: This program provides a good space for adults to ask any technology related questions. Feel free to stop by with any questions regarding computers, smartphones, and social media. No registration necessary.

5 p.m. - College Day: Representatives from ABAC will join us at the library to discuss and answer questions anyone might have on financial aid.

5 p.m. - Destress Fridays: Once a month, we offer teens and young adults a chance to unwind and escape all the noise from the world. This month, we will be offering a free yoga class. No registration is required.

Saturday, December 2nd

10 a.m. - 2 p.m. - Grinch Event: Visit us at the library and venture out into Whoville to get your very own picture with the Grinch! We will be showing The Grinch, as well as provide fun activities while your families wait to have your photo taken. Registration is required! To register call 229-386-7148.
