Town Of Tyrone : Stormwater Infrastructure Assessments Are Starting Up

From: Town Of Tyrone
August 5, 2022

Please be advised that between now and September 23, 2022, representatives from Integrated Science and Engineering (ISE), a Town contractor, will be conducting stormwater infrastructure assessment activities on behalf of the Town of Tyrone during normal business hours (Monday - Friday 8AM-5PM). The stormwater infrastructure asset inspections will include stormwater pipes and stormwater structures (such a catch basins, drop inlets, headwalls, and pipe outfalls). Field crews, comprised of one to two ISE employees, will be visually inspecting the stormwater infrastructure as well as taking applicable measurements, photographs, and field notes. ISE employees will drive marked vehicles and wear clothing marked with their company's logo.

These inspections will require ISE's field crews to be on Town easements that may be located on residential lots, so we wanted to make sure the public is aware in order to reduce alarm.

These inspections are being conducted to ensure the Town of Tyrone's continued compliance with the state of Georgia's Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit requirements. Additionally, the data collected will help Town staff better understand the condition of local stormwater infrastructure and, by extension, improve associated asset planning and management.
