Forty-one of these events occurred in December 2015 alone as persistent rains significantly impacted the area the week of Christmas. The Epic Floods of September 2009 remains one of the most catastrophic flooding events in modern history, causing 10 deaths, 1 injury, and over $500 million in damages from flooding and flash flooding combined.
