5 Things to Know in Athens This Week (12/23/18)

Christmas in Athens may be over, but rest assured there’s still tons of fun events to enjoy before the year’s end. Athens continues to hop with exciting activities, ranging from college football to trivia nights. Before we say goodbye to 2018, get in on all the happenings in Athens this week! 

Bowl Game Mania at Live Wire

College football’s regular season has ended, but the Georgia Bulldogs will take the field one final time during this weekend’s bowl game. Live Wire is hosting a three-day event featuring all the best action from the college bowl series, including the Sugar Bowl on January 1. They’re pulling out all the stops for this final football showdown, including table reservations, cinema-style screens, cash bar, and discounts on pre-paid bar tabs. Doors open at 12 pm starting Saturday, December 29, but you’ll want to reserve your spot early.

A Totally 80s New Year’s Eve with the Highballs

The Foundry is known as the hotspot of nightlife in Athens, so it’s no surprise this is THE place to be on New Year’s Eve.
